Heather MacMillan

Who She Is

Heather’s love for design started when she was very young, moving from house to house and finding joy in helping her family turn each new place into a home. That early spark grew into a lifelong passion — which included planning and designing high profile special events, designing and sewing drapery and pillows, and an accredited interior design degree program, all before forming hsMAC Design LLC. With over 25 years of experience in residential remodel and new construction interior design and project management, she has transformed a diverse range of spaces — from large custom family dream homes to dynamic, contemporary one room make-overs.

Design Philosphy

Her approach is all about you. She listens, she asks questions and gets to know your story, and then creates spaces that feel like a true reflection of who you are. She blends timeless aesthetics with modern sensibilities, always prioritizing comfort and a cohesive sense of style that suits you. This is all done within the boundaries of your budget and timeline. Whether you’re tackling a big renovation, a new construction home of your dreams, or just picking the perfect paint color, she will bring the same care and trained eye to every project. She loves mixing different eras and styles, hunting for those vintage treasures, and making sure every detail feels just right for you, your space, your timeline and budget.

A Message From Heather

“For me, building unique spaces all while building genuine, lasting relationships with my clients is the most rewarding part of this work. I believe great design happens through open, honest collaboration — and a lot of creativity along the way. I aim to keep the process simple and transparent: I bill by the hour, pass along discounts when I find them, and never charge hidden fees. Clear communication is a cornerstone of every project I take on, and I work hard to ensure things stay organized, stress-free, not only for you, but for your contractor. My goal is always the same — to help you create a home that feels comfortable, inspiring, and unmistakably yours. Thank you so much for considering me for your project. It’s truly an honor.”
